How to find exams not offered at FHS
Go to the website: AP course ledger Type in the exam you are looking for and California. All schools that offer that course in CA will come up. Look for schools in our area. Then you will need to contact that school to see if you can test there.
Reduced fee information
If you believe they qualify for a reduced fee, visit this website: Food services. Fill out the Meal Application. Once you receive your approval letter, send a copy to Mrs. Theis at Ltheis@fcusd.org. Once she receives the letter, you will be able to complete your registration
Non FHS Students
If you are not a student at FHS, or not in an FHS class, please contact Laurie Theis. You must check with Ms. Theis before signing up for an exam. We will let you know if we have room for you and provide you with a Join Code. Please state which exam you are hoping to take. There is very limited availability for off campus students this year.

AP test registration instructions
Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Folsom High School desires that all students take AP exams for the AP classes that they have taken.
Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.
For the 2025 AP exams, students at Folsom High School will be registering online. The AP exam registration process is two steps, but both can be completed in one sitting when the student and parent/guardian do this together.
If you have a College Board account already, please use that same email address when signing up in Total Registration. As AP testing approaches students will need to check their email frequently, as Mrs. Theis will be sending communications through the Total Registration website.
Step 1: Begin the process by registering at www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/050940. This is the platform where you will register and pay for exams. At the end of registration you will receive Join Codes for College Board.
Step 2: College Board is the platform where AP exams are ordered: Typically this step has already been completed in AP classes with AP teachers. If AP teachers are not using AP classroom (or you are not in a class) you can sign up for the exam by creating an account here: College Board then use the Join codes provided on your receipt from the Total Registration website to register for exams.
Please use the same name on each website.
Example of what not to do: Katherine on College Board, Kathy on Total Registration. This year each AP exam costs $103.00. ($143.00 for AP Seminar and Research). Folsom
High School desires that every student be able to take their AP exams. If students believe they qualify for a reduced fee, visit this website: Food services. Fill out the Meal Application. Once you receive your approval letter, send a copy to Mrs Theis at Ltheis@fcusd.org. Once she receives the letter, you will be able to complete your registration.
It is the responsibility of students with documented disabilities and their parents to request testing accommodations through The College Board if needed. Such accommodations are not automatic. The deadline for requesting accommodations and submitting paperwork is January 24, 2025. The sooner the better! Requesting Accommodations for AP exams
Students must also notify Mrs. Theis of which accommodations are needed.
